PSU recommendations?
Posted by:WNxTigurius

I did a thorough cleaning of the PC after I started to get random hard shutdowns. I regreased the GPU and CPU with the thermal compound I got on hand. When I went to clean the PSU I found two capacitors were popped with the fluid hardened on the top of them. Looks like the PSU is going bye bye I have a 650 now I need that or better for sata setup any brands you guys tried that are good and not too expensive?

Need paperwork for tomorrow, printer keeps jamming
Posted by:WNx Lucalain

For the first time since finishing school, I need to print something within a short deadline, and my printer decides to break down.

I'm using a 2 to 4 years old HP Deskjet F4280 all-in-one printer, and every time I try to print something, it jams. My computer doesn't report any errors, it's just the paper that sounds like it's too thick or rigid as it goes in, and then it stays stuck, and the display shows an E. Pressing the resume button on the printer cancels the printing, and sometimes pushes the paper out, and sometimes doesn't. I've had to open the thing and pull the paper out by force a couple of times this morning already, and I'm afraid I'm going to break it.

Can anyone tell me what could possibly be wrong?

would like to get the most out of my wireless router.

I picked up a Linksys E4200v2 to provide access for the household. As for my desktop still running off the gigabit and would like to go wireless.
Seeking stability and peek performance. *

Computer Advice?
Posted by:WNxBigs

Yo,

before I blow a £1000 hole in my pocket I was hoping someone who knew something about something could tell me if I am getting something half decent.

I am thinking about getting the Chillblast Elixir which was well reviewed by PCPro

http://www.chillblast.com/Chillblast-Fusion-Elixir.html

I am thinking of a few modifications and the whole system looks like this.

Quote:
EZCool A200D Basic Case
Intel Core i5 2500K Processor Overclocked to up to 4.6GHz
Akasa Nero 3 Ultra Quiet CPU Cooler
Generic thermal paste
Asus P8Z68-V LE Motherboard
8GB Corsair PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3 Memory (2 x 4GB sticks)
Chillblast AMD Radeon HD 6850 1024MB Graphics Card
60GB Corsair Force 3 Solid State Drive
Sony 24x DVD-RW Drive
Corsair Ultra Low Noise 600W PSU
Sound Blaster Audigy SE PCI

54Mbps 802.11g Wireless PCI Adaptor (for Wireless networks)
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
Standard Chillblast Cable Management

23" Iiyama Prolite X2377HDS IPS Widescreen TFT Monitor
Razer Arctosa Gaming Keyboard and Abyssus Gaming Mouse Bundle
Bolded are the things I have changed from the default configuration. Total price £1032.79

I need the screen and keyboard / mouse as I currently have an iMac with Apple keyboard and no monitor

What do people think. Is this a good system? Could I better spend my money on a comparable system?

The thing that bugs me is I cannot afford to add an additional harddrive for a Linux install.

Note: I know the sound card is a bit poo but so are my speakers
The Razer mouse / keyboard might be iffy as well but I need something and why not

EDIT: I was looking at the alienware console computer thing but it doesn't have an SSD and I think the computer I made here is better. Any thoughts on that? http://www.dell.com/uk/p/alienware-x51/fs

Headset Problem! Please assist :(
Posted by:WNxTorenzi

I am using THIS headset and for some reason the microphone wont work...I have no idea why. Latest drivers installed and everything and I'm at my wits end trying to figure out whats going on. I know it works, but I dont know if I have an option disabled or something. Im running on Windows 7 if that means anything. If possible (and if its allowed), I was thinking someone who knows a lot about this kind of stuff can just remote access my comp and help me fix it? Thanks guys.
