Edit
Overall Responsibilities
All levels within the JA Courtyard are responsible for managing submitted punishments. They will provide quality audits on punishments requested to ensure they are fair and fall within set guidelines. They will review and cast decisions and process all disputes and appeals. Responsible for reviewing and validating evidence, questioning witnesses as it relates to various cases. Process warning points and any required discharges.
Brigadier General JA
Responsible for ensuring their team is participating and completing the tasks that are assigned. Ensure that communication is transparent on all issues within the department. Provide training of new procedures; perform audits of policy and protocols. Work with the Major General to ensure the values and guidelines of the department are complimenting the entire Justice Department. Selecting new Colonels as positions require fulfillment.
Provide quality support for games they are assigned to.
Colonel JA
Responsible for performing the assigned duties and tasks required of the JA Courtyard department.
Provide quality support for games they are assigned to. (Max of 3 games)
If a JA holds a sub rank then their Max game support will be 2 so as not to interfere with the daily activities demanded by the position of JA.
JA Common Policy and Procedure
The JA's will only be involved in extreme cases. For the day-to-day punishments, it will be the GAME LEADER's discretion as to what gets punished, etc. The JA has the authority to step in if need be, and can also regulate our upper rank, however we must give GAME LEADERS & ADMINS leeway to handle business on their own if possible, and only come to JA as last resort.
Judge Advocate Department Involvement
• Extreme issues for regular members that the Major/GM/Admin Support feels they cannot handle properly themselves.
• An issue with a GM/Major, HG/Captain or anyone else above field rank ASSUMING the Admin Support of that section can not handle the issue himself.
Administrators
Any issue from warning points, dishonorable discharge or appeals for Administrators will not be handled by the Justice Department. Instead these cases are handled strictly by the Generals.
How it works:
Only Game Leaders and ADMIN can submit a punishment to the Inner Sanctum. However, Grand Masters and Majors are only allowed to submit tickets with a point value of 6 or lower. Actual forum permissions have been edited to reflect this change. If the amount of points issued results in a probation or dishonorable discharge from Warrior Nation, the Admin Support of the offenders primary game must post the Inner Sanctum request. This change speeds up the process as well as promotes more communication between game leaders and the administrators that support them.
• *ANYONE* can initiate an appeal as long as they have been a member for 30 days or more.
• An appeal must be submitted within 7 days of the offense to be accepted.
• Appeals should include as much information as possible. Clearly state everything that happened, include witnesses names to be questioned. Links, screenshots, logs are vital to helping you win an appeal.
The Judge Advocates will review all evidence and may question all witnesses. Once the review is completed the Judge Advocates will cast a poll and vote as to whether you are innocent or guilty.
• If you are found innocent all charges will be reversed.
• If you are found guilty, the JA's will review whether the requested punishment is acceptable. The JA's have a right to increase or decrease the original punishment. If no original punishment was set, the JA's will decide your initial punishment.
• Once your appeal is completed, you may not appeal again for a period of 6 months.
• If a member is granted a return via appeal he/she may NOT hold any tagged rank or apply for any tag for a period of 90 days from the day of return. This does not include field ranks I.E Sergeant Major/Paladin
(Effective July 1st '08- Any member returning from a discharge before this date will not be included in this policy)
• Periodically 5 Star Generals will review random appeals. If they so decide, they may veto the ruling. In doing so all 5 Star Generals must vote majority.
If people initiate trials over stupid things, then they themselves will be reprimanded. This is only to be used as a last line to stop problems.
Note that the council is only to be used in extreme circumstances. if its being used to frequently, then this means that the game leaders are failing in their positions
*NOTE that unless an official trial is initiated, that the Judge Advocates have NO SAY over punishment or who is guilty, innocent, etc. - the punishment and dealing with problems falls upon the GAME LEADERS of the section.

Combat Journalists
Edit
Editor
*Currently limited to 3.
*Can be used as Subtag.
The current amount of Editors is three. This isn't a fixed number and will be adjusted to the needs and workload per Editor. The amount of sections in WN also plays a role of course.
Editors will be in charge of guiding and helping Journalists. They are also in charge of correcting reports and compiling the reports into the genre's magazines. This includes the design and outward appearance of the magazines. All reports should look uniform in a magazine.
Editors review new CJ applications and also decide upon the featured report for their genre and nominate CJs for the Ace Award and the Medal of Resolution.
May also be assigned additional duties from the Colonels. (e.g. Special reports, Creative Writing)
Journalist
*Maximum one CJ per Section.
*Can be used as Subtag.
Journalists are here to write the Sections' news reports. The amount of sections a Journalist covers varies and changes over time. It is however attempted that each Journalist covers an equal amount of work. There is no maximum amount of Journalists, so if there are enough qualified members for the position, each Journalist would cover only one Section.
As sections leave Development or are cut from WN, the sections a Journalist covers need to be adjusted. A Journalist could cover a whole set of sections this month and cover some totally different sections next month. This keeps the interesting as you deal with different sections every month.
Journalists don't have to get in contact with their sections. They aren't part of leadership and therefore don't get any special priviledges. A Journalist can however get in contact with the Game Leaders of the Sections they are assigned to. This can help getting information for Journalists and also help the game leaders as this improves the quality of the report.
Journalists may also voluntarily do Interviews and Creative Writing.
Historians
Edit
Scholar

*Can be used as Subtag.
Each Scholar is responsible overseeing certain groups of Histories. The Scholar assigns Historians to cover the work of the different Histories. Scholars are responsible of guiding and helping historians, while they also control whether each Historian does his job. They Review new Historian applications and suggest Historians for the Ace Award. In case a Historian position is vacant, it is the responsibility of the Scholar to find a replacement. In the meantime he is in charge of updating and maintaining the Histories in question.
Scholars can also be assigned additional duties (Clan history maintenance, creation of new histories, researches).
Historian
*Currently limited to 13.
*Can be used as Subtag.
Historians are the writers of Warriornation's history. They oversee a group of histories (either sectional or global histories) and are meant to maintain and update these. Historians are also in charge of keeping the Histories in the correct format.
The group of Histories a Historian oversees changes in the course of time, as sections leave development or get cut. The amount of histories a Historian is in charge of should not be lower than 3 or more than 5. It is attempted that each Historian has an equal amount of Histories to cover.

*Can be used as Subtag.
SWAT provides Game sections with Game websites. SWAT members are in charge of designing, maintaining and updating these websites. This includes cooperation and communication with Game Leaders and Development Engineers. SWAT websites should be used in order to make WN more attractive to outsiders, and to help recruiting in the sections. The purpose is not to keep current Section members updated, that's what we have forums for.
The SWAT members should always strive to train normal members and answer questions. They are responsible of moderating the Design Suite.

Once someone has been a trainee for two monthes, he should either be promoted to a full team member or removed.
Members with good web-artist skills don't have to run through a trainee-membership, and can be promoted to a full member right away.
