Guide for Crafting
1.Introduction
Vocation
or also known as Crafting ingame
There are a total of nine different types of Vocations:
·Mining: Mining of Ores
·Foraging: Gathering of Herbs
·Woodcutting: Gathering of Lumber from trees
·Hunting: Skinning of corpses
·Guardiancraft – Greatly recommended for Shamans and Dragoons, requires Mining
·Scoutcraft – Greatly recommended for Rogues and Rangers, requires Woodcutting
·Arcanecraft – Greatly recommended for Mystics and Conjurers, requires Hunting
·Herbalism –Anyone can learn this, requires Foraging
·Cooking – Anyone can learn this, requires Foraging
·Petcraft – Anyone can learn this, requires Foraging, Mining
Take note that one can only learn TWO of these vocation skills, so pick the two vocations that complement each other!
Mining, foraging, woodcutting and hunting are the primary vocations while Guardiancraft, Scoutcraft, Arcanecraft, Herbalism and Cooking are the secondary vocation.
2.Starting Up
Once you have decided which seconday vocation you would like to pick up, head over to Bolo the Craftsman in Pokari City.

If you could not find him, you can open up the map (press M) and click on his name. There is an auto-route function that will bring you to him.

Talk to Bolo and choose the Learn Vocation Skills option. As I am playing a Rogue, I will be choosing Scoutcraft as my secondary vocation.

Talk to Bolo again, this time, choosing the Recipe Trade option. Buy a recipe that you can craft and equip. Lets take for example, [15]Huntress Suit Recipe. The [15] denotes the minimum level requied before you can equip the item. Please note the gender that can equip the crafted item of the recipe that you are buying. Right click on the scroll to learn how to craft the item.

Press O to bring up your list of craftable items. As you see, to craft a Huntress Suit, I would require a Phoenix Tree Core and a Novice Thimblekit.

Let's go over to Roki the Woodsman next. This time, click on Learn Vocation Skills and select W.cutt. Talk to Roki again, this time choosing Refinery Recipe/Tools Trade. Under the W.cutt. tab, buy a Phoenix Tree Core Refinery scroll.

Follow up by clicking on the Tool tab, and buy some Novice Hatchet. (Do note that certain hatchets can be only used to chop certain trees.)
Notice that the Novice Hatchet has a description of “Has a chance to break when used.” I usually buy about 17 hatchets to get at least 20 Phoenix Tree Branches.

Now, open up your vocation tab again (press O). Under W.cutt., you can see that to get a Phoenix Tree Core, you would need 20 Phoenix Tree Branches.
3.Gathering the Materials.
Gathering the materials is the most tedious part of all but is very easy. After purchasing the tools needed to gather the materials, head out of the city.
Once you are outside of the city, press M to open up your map. On the right, you can see various locations to gather the materials. Look for whatever you need to gather and double click on it. Your character will auto-route to that location.

Once you reached the location, simply click on the item to gather it. As you gather, your tools will sometimes “break” so remember to bring enough of it.

4.Making the items.
Now that you have gathered the required materials from gathering, head back to town and talk to Jimm the Tool Merchant. There you can buy the materials that could not be gathered. In my case, this is the Novice Thimblekit.

Now, open up the crafting window and proceed to craft whichever items you want.
Voila! You have learnt the basics of how to craft in Ether Saga.
5.Workman’s Touch.
There are special counterparts to equipments that could be crafted normally. These items usually have better stats and can be easily identified by the glow around the item icon or by wearing it.

These equipments and their scrolls can only be found in Adventures (aka dungeons/instances). Scrolls that can teach you how to craft “Workman’s Touch” type of equipment will have a star in their name.

You may notice that to craft one, you might need a “Scout’s Shard” and “Material Ethyr(s)”. These too, can only be found in Adventures.
The Shards equilivent can only be gathered in Adventures. The Shards usually are behind Boss Monsters.
6.Pet-crafting.
As the following picture implies, I have no idea what is it yet. Those who want to get this profession head over to Gau's Fazenda and talk to Molon the Book Merchant.

Yep, that's about it. If there is anypart that this guide can be improved, please do tell. Most of the information can be found via reading the Guide but no one's gonna read that chunk of text. I just compiled and added images to it.
