This is my first Preview. Guitar Hero: World Tour, also known as Guitar Hero 4, is going to be alike Rock Band, but with better songs. First off, GUITAR Hero: World Tour is going to have Drums, Bass, Guitar, and Vocals. There will be downloadable content, I will elaborate later on.

There will be four types of instruments, Drums, Bass, Guitar and Vocals.

The Les Paul is unfortunately NOT coming back in Guitar Hero: World Tour. Instead, Producers are bringing in a Fender Stratocaster look-a-like. The Guitar will be 25% bigger, and will have a longer Whammy Bar. The Strum bar will be quieter, and longer. The method of activating star power via the select button has been redesigned. The "Bridge" of the guitar, will be used to activate star power. you can still lift the guitar to activate star power.

The bass will look exactly like the Guitar. It will have all of the same qualities of the Guitar.

The Drums are what everyone wants to play. It is harder than it looks, though. The drums will look like the Rock Band drums, but with cymbals. The cymbals come with the drum set. The most exciting part is that you will be able to connect any drum kit, drum machine or any other compatible device. The Wii version of the drum kit will have a slot where you can put the Wii remote into it, thus enabling it to be wireless. During song creation, you will be able to alter the sound made by the drum.

The Microphone will connect to the console via USB, rather then being wireless. You can connect any real microphone that is USB compatible. You still need to use a standard controller to select the song, difficulty, and mode.

Band Career Mode

Band Career Mode can be played online, or offline. You can play with your friends, or by yourself. Within this mode, there is "Battle of the Bands." Your band can compete against other bands.

Singleplayer Career Mode

Singleplayer Career Mode will differ from the previous game, Guitar Hero III. Instead of playing through a setlist, you will be encountering gigs. This will offer a choice of songs to play. You are not required to complete all of the songs on that list. The game will allow you to change the difficulty during the Career, and possibly during a song. You will also be able to change you instrument during the Career, without having to restart the Career.

Boss Battles

Yes, you saw right, Boss Battles will be returning, however, there will be some changes. There will be no more attack power-ups. Instead, there will be a "call and response mechanic," similar to the Face-Off mode.

Wii Exclusive

There will be a Wii Exclusive mode, exclusive to the Wii. This mode will be called "Mii Freestyle," you are able to use your own created Miis. This will allow players to improvise songs via the use of Guitar, and Drum controllers, or just simpily using the Wii Remote and Nunchuck.

Downloadable Content

For the first time ever, the Wii will support Downloadable content (DLC). Wii users will be able to download content via the use of the Wii's internal memory, or the use of an SD card. Most of the current DLC for GHIII will not be able to be transferred to GH:WT. This is due to the lack of the new instruments in the songs. With the new release of Metallica's Death Magnetic, developers were able to prepare the tracks so that they can be played in GH:WT. There will be more Jimi Hendrix songs available via DLC.

Concise and informative. Good job

It hasn't really convinced me to get the game, the system and the instruments though... Just don't have that kind of money xD

Too bad you didn't put any pictures of the new drum set, because it has symbols which is SICK! Nice review otherwise.
