I finally got that maul I have been working for but I realized how much it costs to change from a strike to an escort. Everything just drains your tylium. So after that now I am stuck with only about 5900 Bullets and 170 Missles and like 4k tylium. Which isn't really nice and I seriously don't know what to do. I mean I have some last resort stuff but they are last resort. You guys have any ideas on how I can get faster ways of Tylium. (I am all ready doing dailys and killing a lot of NPC's and Drones.)
What worked for me on the maul before i advanced it, was to sit on the middle of epsilon iordani (on top of the planet), where you find a container. On that debris field you just sit and the strikes that show up are easy to kill. More kills by the hour and it's pretty much guaranteed you won't get killed.
Though, looking back, i would stick with the strike doing pretty much everything, while spending on the maul.
I too own a Maul, yes they are a bit more expensive. Like Ginger and boanerges said, keep with the strike to get your rescources, then slowly work on your Maul. Mine only really comes out for fleet battles. Though they can be used for mining...

(cont...) The trick is to use normal cannons when mining, the increased scanning range means slightly faster mining and will add up fast. I know Jalan has more success in his Maul for mining than his Viper. You might want to ask him how he does it. (Posted via Mobile Device)
you want to know how to get tylium? Well what you need to do is spend about 1hr soloing heavy supp. plats up in Hatir or muspell. Do it by yourself (so you get all the drops), and after about 8 plats you should have enough tylium to run a line ship. If you need help with the plats just ask anyone in game they could show you the blind spot and you can just go to town my friend.

You could always ask a wing mate to take you to Muspell and farm some medium plats too. I've done this with several people. You can net a fair amount of XP and tylium that way.

I have a very healthy Jotunn to farm plats with. Just ask anytime I'm online (after dailies are done!) ;-)

Captain Nashan, I'm usually farming plats in muspell in my aeisir in the mornings Mountain time USA between 5:30 and 7am cruise on up and I'll help u get all need! Treat the maul like the hot rod you're restoring. Keep it I. The garage, add a gun one day then maybe another. Treat it like a long term project. Before you know it you'll be flyin it around and crushing cans!
And since no one has said it, mauls/scythes suck tell you advance it, you will need 45k cubits for that BUT if you plan to be a escort pilot its well worth it, and once you have got the hang of flying a maul and your gear is decently upgraded you can switch to a halberd......or just not advance the maul and go straight for the halberd

Yeah I advanced the maul its nice like a mini line ship you can tank in it pretty nicely. Just don't really plan on it going fast. Ever.
I kind of wish I had saved the cubes for a halberd, but live and learn... I hope to have enough to get one in the next month or so.
