Video editing?

I'm in the hunt for someone experienced in splicing video clips together...

WNxHGN_BLADE and I are going to record some gameplay footage and I was hoping I could find somebody who knows a little bit about making montages or editing videos...



I'd need your expertise either as a consultant (which software to use/tips)

or as a member of our tripod willing to slap some cool videos together to show off as some sort of sectional montage, of course BG music is a must.

I was hoping to do something called a dual-tage...as in it would showcase his kills from my perspective, show us working as a team etc...

I am an experienced video-maker. I haven't made a montage before, but I have taken many courses in video editing. If you'd like to send my your clips I'll see what I can put together.

Do you have a choice of music?
And do you have a time frame for when you want it done? The more time, the more quality.

Only thing making hq a little difficult Is the capture devices, which I'm guessing youd make up for It by using effects?

There's not much I can do in terms of video quality if you have a poor capture device. I can add effects, but the quality will be the same.

I'll need the video files themselves, so you'll have to get HGN to send those to me.

i was curious about a hdmi > vga kinda thing so i called radioshack

he mentioned a Smartphone app called Twonky (wireless video transfer?)
and that PS3 is DLNA software?

smurfette has digicam with video recorder.. we can compare qualities and see whats worth a go

I don't know how much you want to spend on recording software, but the best one out there, and the one I use personally, is the Hauppauge HDPVR. Best quality out there. That is, of course, if you're willing to shell out $200. :/

Well personally I think it's great. Easy to record, and good quality. Don't really know of any bad things about it.

Splitting the file up in an editing program and sending me the split clips would be the best bet. But that's only if the file is too huge. If it's a medium size I'll give you my email and you can email it to me.

well... i recorded WNxUfofreak (wnxaliensmurf) crashing his helicopter into a hill haha


other than it being shakey because im trying to hold it and the controller at the same time, i think the quality is 6/10...definitely going to look into buying a better video capture device

but for now it would be nice to work with what we got

im not sure what the output format will be (i can convert it i suppose) but I can email it to HGN and ask him to post on his youtube channel, or email the file to both of you..

If I cant manage to go the cheap route i'll go with what WNxNapoleon has mentioned and buy a third party device to act as a medium.

I see what WNxKlubber has been doing with his capture card and epic bf3 sauce, needless to say im jealous

I havent been able to record anything myself as I don't have a way to hold my phone and play at the same time but quality isnt that bad, im sure some filters would do wonders.

Think im using the same capture device " happuage hd pvr" its easy to use if I can lol. Im just struggling with the editing, transitions seem too choppy for me any ideas?

That will depend on the content and stuff.
Usually I find it best to edit the video content to flow with the sound. So, if you haven't already, pick a music first.

If the song is fast, with clear beats, I will cut the video with sudden change. No slowly fading in or out. Maybe like flipping a book page. Or quick iris or curtain style. If the song has vocal or lyric, I would transit the video content right at the beginning of the sentence.

I don't think that the cord you have suggested will make you able to capture footage.

The simplest route would be to get a third party recording device such as a Hauppauge HD PVR or a Dazzle.

Make sure you use a good editing program such as Sony Vegas or Adobe After Effects.

When using music, make sure not to use copyrighted music as this can cause your video to be removed from any site you post it to e.g YouTube and it can also make your account on that website be terminated.

I didn't read through all of this so I don't know if you found someone to do this, but I use Adobe After Effects just to make some nice videos, I have made a few montages and they turned out very nice
